The cold snap is still in full swing and so are the cold temperatures. Naturally, people want to stay inside more. It is just as important to keep the mind active as well. Here are some different ways to stay physically and mentally active during the cold months:
Workout Class
The gym is not the only place one can get in a workout; any home can be used as a gym. Joining an online workout class or meditation class to stay active can do wonders for the body and the mind. This can help with staying physically and mentally active and staying busy during the colder months.
Virtual Tours
The world is full of culture and art that it is not always possible to experience it all.in person. Since the pandemic, museums around the world have become creative by offering virtual tours! The British Museum, in London, grants the opportunity to learn about the world over thousands of years, without traveling to London. The Solomon Guggenheim Museum, in New York, is also an option, you can explore all six levels of the windy staircase while learning about different types of art. One last example is in France. Which features works by Vincent Van Gogh. The Musée d’Orsay features art from the late 1800s to the early 1900s and is a beauty to see, even virtually! So, where would you like to virtually visit?
Another added benefit of Glen Arden is that we provide computer classes. We pride ourselves on lifelong learning and ensuring opportunities for our residents.
Activity Classes
There are so many ways to stay active and involved, despite the cold weather. This can be done with various activities we offer here at Glen Arden. We want our residents to experience learning opportunities every day. This can be done by taking advantage of the personal trainer in the fitness center, maybe take a computer class or perhaps try something new like drawing or bridge. The offerings are endless.
